About This Report

This website is an informational site for autism. Also you can find links and the sources I used to create this site. Also, if you are a teacher and would like to know more about human diseases and also the project that inspired me to build this website, please visit www.curtis1.com to find out more information. Also, any word with an apteryx* next to them, is defined in the definitions page.

BASIC DESCRIPTION OF AUTISM

Autism is not a human body disease, but a developmental disorder of brain function. You are diagnosed with autism at birth, but you start noticing the symptoms around age three and will continue throughout your life. Autism is three times more likely to affect males than females. Although there is no cure, appropriate early educational intervention may improve social development and reduce undesirable behaviors.
