I was personally mad at God and concerned rather my daughter would end up blind!We must take life one day at a time. At times sickle cell is life threatening. We constantly try to deal with what is to be expected.
For the first three years I was very bitter with others because theyreally didn't know that there was an illness such as sickle cell. Over time the bitterness turned into educating others about this much forgotten about disease.
I would like to pass on to others the following; educate yourself about sickle cell, donate your time with the little children on pediatric hospital floors, and donate blood to your local blood bank!!
Finally ask yourself this question; Do I know at least three things about sickle cell disease? Thank God for your healthy child(ren) eveynight!
