Grade Invention Project
Your
Mission: To create an invention or innovation that captures the
inventive spirit. Your invention must use some form of energy and you must
be able to identify the energy sources in your written information. Your invention
need not work, but you must have a model that shows what your invention would
look like. Try to be practical and create something that is useful. Part of
your grade for this project is based on how realistic and practical your invention
is.
Include all of the following
in your Invention Project:
-
v
Display board: neatly presented - the display board does not need to
be store-bought
-
v Written
description: with correct grammar and spelling. This description must
be as complete as possible. It is better to write more than you think you
need to. Remember, the person that reads your display board needs to have
information to figure out how your invention works, why you invented it,
what need it fulfills and anything else that helps to explain it. The written
description will be put on your display board.
-
v Model:
working or non-working
-
v Diagrams:
that show the inner and outer workings of your invention, colorfully
illustrated and neatly done - the diagrams need to go on the display b
oard.
-
v Advertisement:
newpaper or magazine ad that goes on your presentation board, radio advertisement
or video commercial. Video commercials get 5 points of extra credit.
Newspaper or magazine advertisements go on your display board.
-
v Oral
report: present your invention to the class. This is mandatory!
-
v Type
of energy use: must be correctly identified. Make sure that your display
board has information on it regarding the energy used by your invention
and describes how your invention uses this energy. Types of energy includes
but is not limited to the following: light (and any form of electromagnetic
energy such as x-rays, gamma, ultraviolet, infrared, radio and
microwaves);
magnetic, electrical, chemical, nuclear, mechanical.
-
v Creativity,
usefulness, and inventive spirit: must be demonstrated by your invention.
